Your Guide
Matt Tinnell
I have been fishing on the Southeast coast of the United States for the majority of my lifetime. I began my love of the outdoors through my experience being a Boy Scout and proudly earning Eagle Scout rank. Conservation and sustainability in the forefront of my mind, I have grown to appreciate what the outdoors has to offer us.

I am at my happiest on the coast with a fishing rod in my hand. From the age of 6, my greatest joy in life comes from casting out a line for the big one. Teaching what I have learned about various kinds of saltwater fishing to others and seeing them be successful has become my passion. My fishing excursions focus on having fun as well as educational opportunities.
Being a part of the NOAA Apex Predator tagging program has been an incredible opportunity. Helping to study east coast shark species I have been able to tag over 5 species off our coast here in South Carolina. Every shark caught is quickly unhooked, tagged, and safely released back.

My Background
Fishing has always been a fascination, and as I have moved into adulthood, it has become a part of who I am. My family has enjoyed having a home in North Litchfield for over 50 years and as a frequent visitor for over two decades, I have gained many special memories of fishing in the Lowcountry. As soon as I could hold a rod in my hand, I was literally hooked.
I have fished throughout the Southeast from the Carolinas to the Florida Keys. Along the way gaining invaluable tips tricks and tactics to target a wide array of species.
I graduated from UNCW in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, with a concentration in Conservation and Sustainability paired with a Business Minor. I will keep fishing a life-long passion and teach others what I have learned and will learn, along the way.
My Goal
I started this business because of the many amazing interactions and conversations I have had with visitors and residents of Litchfield Beach and Pawleys Island while out fishing. Having grown up on this stretch of beach, I enjoy it when others come up to me to ask what I am catching and inquire about my techniques. I am always giving young children the rod to reel in a few fish or teaching a passerby what rigs to throw or what bait to use so they can be successful the next morning.
My goal is to inspire the next generation as well as help others improve their skills in the saltwater fishing sport. Seeing young children's faces when they catch their first fish or shark is priceless to me. I enjoy watching how happy they are and eager to learn. My hidden passion for fishing is teaching. If you or your child are looking to learn how to fish in any facet, it would be my absolute pleasure to share with you what I know.
