The Big Game

4 hours --> $250 per person (ask Matt about group rates)

This excursion focuses on big gamefish tactics and targeting the larger species that lurk just off of the SC coast. There are an array of techniques we will use such as drone fishing, kayaking out baits, and topwater popping to catch these beach monsters.

Typically from June-August, we see massive schools of menhaden, glass minnows, and mullet run parallel to our shores. These bait schools attract apex predators. Large migratory tarpon will explode on the schools in the late summer along with trophy king mackerel in the 50-60lb range. Sharks will find and attack the chools in the early morning putting on a fantastic topwater show.

We will be focusing on catching the baitfish with a cast net and then throw them back out for what is usually an instant MUNCH!! Another option is throwing large popping lures for these predators which is an exhilarating way to watch your foe attack. Drone fishing is when we attach our bait underneath the drone and fly it out directly to the fish sight fishing style. The release clip is designed to let go of the bait with enough tension and plop it right on top of the fish's head. Kayaking provides a way to drop very large or awkward baits hundreds of yards off the beach for sharks without the fear of breaking a rod or not casting far enough.

Whichever tactic you decide to choose if that be casting, drone fishing, or kayak dropping I can assure you it will be an amazing experience full of tight lines.
